Finding the sleeping giant

On the way to the top of El Boquerón we stopped for lunch & tried some plantain crusted Pupusas
Pupusas -local Salvadoran tortillas, usually made of corn, stuffed with beans & cheese or chicken or loroco (green herb)
Eating Pupusas at very shady locations just check out the lady peering around the corner :)
Benvenidos a El BoQUERóN Crater & Cinder cone

the wide 'hump' is Boquerón & the high peak is El Picacho
Boquerón Crater is part of a stratovolcano that last errupted in 1917
As the city is at the foot of the volcano any activity would cause major devastation

El Picacho Elevation: 6,430.5 ft or 1,960 m
